We collect information from you in order to personalize and optimize your experience in 'On to the Summit'. Others who are seeking an expedition partner will see your biographical information only, and this will help everyone chose those partners with whom they are compatible and subsequently increase the team's chances of making the summit successfully.

No financial information is available to other expedition members or those visiting the site. We store your information on a locked and secure server, making available only what information you chose to release through you Bio. As you access our site we collect information in an effort to facilitate the start of or continuation of each expedition. We collect your IP address (where you are 'calling from'), your name and address, e-mail address, user name and pass word. We will track your expedition and purchase history, as well as those comments made by your fellow adventurers on how your expedition team performed. If we ship you an item you have purchased from our store, we track the status of that item's movement and its delivery (if shipped by third party carriers). We do this to continually improve our service and enjoyment that we want you to receive from all aspects of 'On to the Summit'. We also collect credit card history from various credit bureaus in order to detect and stop fraud.

We use your e-mail address to apprise you of parties interested in enlisting you for an expedition. While we encourage you to do your communicating within the environment of our site, you may engage your party/team privately via personal e-mail. We will accept no responsibility for information exchanged between expedition members outside of our site, and we will not accept responsibility for non-discretionary and unprofessional information exchange within our site. Persons caught violating our Conditions of Use policy can and will be warned and suspended.

We do not send/sell e-mail addresses to private companies. We will give the mailing address you provide us to third party carriers or postal agents in order to get items purchased from our store to you as quickly as possible. If you do not wish to receive e-mail from 'On to the Summit', contact the customer service representative named below (by e-mail, phone, or post) and we will adjust your account accordingly. When you log onto our site, we send alphanumeric identifiers (cookies) to your hard drive via your web browser. This allows us to recognize you and expedite the continuation of your expedition. It also makes shopping at our site easier, and it will make it easier to provide automatic discounts to you based on your expedition and purchase history. You can refuse to accept cookies. Remember that you are in an adventure with other people. Share only the information with them that you feel comfortable sharing. You can trust a lot of people with your life, but can trust very few with your wallet. We prefer that all expedition members be over the age of 18 and therefore of an age that they can discriminate more thoroughly and maturely regarding what information they choose to share.

We send your credit card information on to the relevant credit card company using encrypted (SSL) information as well.
