The Summit Challenge
Goal setting program.
What is the Summit?
The Summit™ is goal setting meets Indiana Jones. It is a goal setting, and peak performance game, all rolled into one excellent adventure. In the Summit you engage in an intense period of focus for 8 or 12 weeks and make massive progress on your goals. How it works The Summit™ takes the concept of goal setting and expresses it through the analogy of mountain climbing. Individuals (climbers) set goals for the next 8 or 12 weeks in their work and personal life. Then each week as you make progress on your supporting goals you make your way up the mountain.
Complete enough of your most important activities each week and you make it to the next camp. However If you fail to stay focused on your most important priorities, you are going to pay consequences. |

I recently took "The Summit" challenge at a time when I found myself in a slump. What a difference it made! I had my best summer ever and three of the four months that followed were also personal bests! It is really helping me turn some of my biggest weaknesses into strengths.

Why it works
The Summit™ combines all of the essentials of personal excellence into one place and adds some new elements to make the process even better. The Summit™ incorporates so many elements of peak performance that it’s the best tool out there to help you exceed your goals by staying focused on what matters.
Have you ever wondered what you were capable of achieving if you could only stay focused long enough? Most people fall short of their potential, not just because they fail to set goals, but because:
- They fail to change habits, and thought patterns, that derail their progress.
- They fail to create a system of focus to help them stay on track.
- They fail to employ principles of motivation, which will help them persist through obstacles.
- They try and do it alone.
If you could change anything in the next two months what would it be?
I want to…- Be a better manager.
- Spend more quality time with my kids.
- Pay off my debt
- Get on top of my finances
- Get in shape.
- Lose 20 pounds.
- Revive my spiritual life.
- Have a record month in sales.
- Attract more clients.
- Launch a business.
- Strengthen my marriage.
- Make more money.
- Clean out my garage.
- Strike more balance in my life.
- Quit smoking.
These are some of the most popular goals, and yet too often we fail to see any lasting change. We desire to live up to our true potential but somewhere along the way we get lost. The Summit is an 8-week adventure that will have you making real progress on your goals and dreams. Whatever you want to change, I guarantee that after the eight-week program you will have made incredible strides towards reaching your goals.
The 8 Week Summit Goal Setting System
The Summit is based on 7 principles of excellence that are necessary for individuals to make massive change in their lives. One of the reasons people fall short is that they employ only one or two of these principles at a time. In order to tap into your true potential you must employ all 7 of these principles of peak performers. To help you do this I have designed an eight-week system that will have you more focused than you have ever been.

Make your way to The Summit by staying focused on your most important goals. |
The flawed way we attempt to reach our own goals.
Being successful is all about maintaining focus, but keeping your focus is a lot of work. In fact keeping your focus over a long period of time is probably the hardest thing you will ever do.
Most of us live life like it is a marathon. A marathon is long, tedious and you have to pace yourself. This is why sometimes people describe life as a ‘grind’ or they tell their friends that they are ‘hanging in there,’ or my personal favorite, ‘I’m still alive.’ This is not the language of excellence.
Instead of living life like a marathon runner, we should be living like a sprinter.
Sprinters come out of the blocks hard and fast. They are extremely focused for a short period of time and then they slow down and recover in preparation for the next race.
Instead of a long, routine grind, your life should be broken up into shorter, more exciting periods of intense focus and growth, mixed with periods of relaxed focus.
Imagine instead of a typical 12-month grind in 2009, you began to divide your life into 3 or 4 periods of intense focus interspersed with times of relaxed focus.

The other extreme is no good either. Some will tell you to “go hard” and “always give it your all.” While this might sound noble and productive it actually leads to burnout.
Many of your dreams are only reachable when you pull out all the stops, but you cannot sustain your best effort for months on end. Too long at full power and you burnout.
There is something magical however when people commit to an 8-12 week period of intense focus where they dig deep and pull out their very best effort. When you create a short-term burst of energy you experience a spike of activity in your life that begins to alter your behavior, change habits, and make real progress on your dreams.
Pacing yourself is the path to a mediocre life.
You can achieve amazing results when you bear down and focus for a period of 8-12 weeks. I call this secret the Summit Approach.
Imagine you are a mountain climber. There are months of preparation and training but once you get on the mountain, it is time for your very best. You need to focus intensely in order to reach the summit and get back down safely. Once you are back in Base Camp you can rest up until your next summit attempt.
Using my Summit Approach, you actually break your year into several cycles of intense focus followed by times of relaxed focus.

The Summit Approach.
When you combine proper goal setting techniques with my Summit Approach, you crash through barriers that have previously held you back.
After observing this principle of growth I designed a program that married the best of goal setting techniques with the Summit Approach to life. I wanted the program to be motivating, effective and fun. I call it The Summit Challenge.
In the Summit Challenge you focus like never before for a period of either 8 or 12 weeks and take massive action toward your dreams.
The reason it is called The Summit is because you actually climb a virtual mountain by making progress on your goals.
When people take The Summit Challenge, they have unprecedented results. I must warn you however; The Summit is intense, and only for those who are serious about taking massive action towards their goals.
"I have always been goal orientated, but with my busy lifestyle and new business venture I found that I was distracted and 'all over the place'. When I signed on to the summit with a close friend it gave me the focus and motivation I needed. My competitive nature meant that not completing my weekly and summit goals was not an option and the result was week in and week out I had to push that little bit harder, both for myself and my 'climbing buddy'. The Summit was a ton of fun, and the weekly advice and team atmosphere were the encouragement I needed. Thanks for all your help, I will be back to the mountain soon!"

By taking The Summit Challenge, you will:
-
Experience a re-alignment of focus on priorities in both life and work by revisiting values and clarifying your compelling future.
-
Draft a clear and concise map that will outline the exact steps needed for them to reach their personal and career summits.
Long-Term Change
One of the problems with goal setting programs is that they don’t alter long-term behavior. The Summit is different because it will help you lock in winning habits that are going to continue your success long after the program is over."Over the years I have attended countless sales and self-help seminars and read numerous books on everything from overcoming procrastination to thinking big. Recently, I completed my first climb to the summit. What an achievement! In a short twelve weeks I accomplished more than I imagined and even created some new habits. Using the concept of accountability and incorporating fun into the plan, I was able to establish and achieve exactly what I wanted to. If you are serious about making some changes in your life and need a little help doing it, then this is the program for you."

Two Player
For even more fun, you can climb the Summit with a partner. The two player version is intense as you and your partner's success is dependent on each other. As you hold each other accountable, and keep each other motivated, you will see incredible results as you inch higher and higher up the mountain. What are you going to do with that nagging tug deep inside you that is whispering, “You are capable of more?”
Sincerely,
James Robbins
